Psalm 139:16

"All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. "

"All the days"

I am going to a funeral today.
A friend...a husband...a dad....a member of our church family.
He was only 42.
I am sitting here thinking and praying for his family. Their world has been turned upside down.
I reach for my Bible, for God's Word, and open it up to Psalm 139.

"all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be"

My God, what words of comfort are here from you this morning. Before ANY of my days came to be, before any of my friend's days were to be, you KNEW exactly what day you would take him home and you know exactly what day you will take me home too.

I want my life to reflect Your glory, Lord...to be Your instrument. I created this blog (with the help of a friend) to have a place to jot my thoughts as I walk the journey God has set before me.

The one He has designed for me.

I would love you to join me on this journey from time to time, sit a while and share my day.

Do You Wonder

Do you wonder, young mother
As the years slip quickly by
How things are for your little ones?
Since the day you said goodbye

I can’t help but think of you
As each year comes to an end
As I watch these precious sons
Has your heart begun to mend?

Do you wonder, young mother
If they’re happy as they grow
In their new family who loves them?
I wish that you could know

I wish that I could show you
The new joys every day
That three growing boys bring us
In their learning, in their play

Do you wonder, young mother
If they ever think of you?
Do they remember your loving arms
That held them close to you?

I can tell you, young mother
You are always in someway here
In our thoughts and in our prayers
Your memory is dear

Did you wonder, young mother
That life would be this way?
That two mothers would some day share
Three precious sons today

One day I hope we meet
So I can wipe your tears away
And understand the choice you made
On that memory filled day

Do you wonder?

I wrote this poem on the 3rd anniversary of the day we got that long awaited phone call...the phone call that would change our lives forever. This poem was written for the boys birth mother and I pray one day she will get to read it.
